Top 3 Toyota Repair Issues

1. Brake Pedal Problems
A particularly common problem with many Prius' is an issue with the brake pedal having little to no pressure when pressed. This usually indicates either air in the brake fluid, a problem with the master cylinder, or low brake fluid. If air has gotten into the brake fluid/brake lines, the brake lines will need to be drained and new fluid added. If there is an issue with the master cylinder is most likely will need to be replaced. The easiest issue to fix is if your vehicle is low on brake fluid. Provided that there isn't a leak, it simply needs more brake fluid added to the reservoir.

2. Steering Wheel Lock
Another commonly seen issue is with the steering wheel locking, which can cause the ignition not to fire when turned. Sometimes it can be jarred loose by twisting and turning or turning hard to one side. Otherwise lubricating the ignition lock cylinder or having the mounting bolts in the steering wheel column tightened may fix the problem. If these attempts don't work, the ignition lock cylinder may need to be replaced.

3. Faulty Power Switch
In Toyota vehicles, a faulty power switch most commonly occurs on the passenger side, but can happen on the driver's side as well. While the issue is rather annoying, especially on the driver's side, since it makes going through a drive through impossible, it is a fairly easy fix. We simply have to replace the malfunctioning power switch.
