Top 3 Nissan Repair Issues

1. Crankshaft and Camshaft Sensors
n issue with either the crankshaft or camshaft sensor is indicated when a vehicle doesn't start all the time or starts up just fine but dies after a few seconds or even after several minutes of operation. When there is a problem with either the crankshaft or camshaft sensors, engine timing can be affected leading to engine backfires or irregular rpm operation.

2. Fuel Filters
Often when someone detects unusual shifting, such as harder shifting or shifting delays, one immediately thinks that there is an issue with the transmission. While the transmission is often the culprit, it is not the only option. If there is also a "pinging" sound from the engine and other unexplainable signs of poor vehicle performance, it could be a problem with the fuel system instead. Some common fuel problems are too little fuel getting to the engine or too much air in the fuel lines. Just like when a person doesn't eat enough food, if the engine isn't getting enough fuel it can't perform at its best. This results in slow, rough shifting and low rpms. Often a replacement fuel filter is all that is needed, but it's best to make sure that the body throttle is checked and cleaned at the same time.

3. Ignition Coils
Nissan uses a coil-on-plug ignition system, these systems can sometimes develop problems if they don't have the properly, regular maintenance. Diagnosing faulty ignition coils can be difficult as it requires that each coil be checked with an ohmmeter to figure out which one or ones are failing. After replacing the faulty coils, you should make sure to have regular maintenance done on the coils and the whole ignition system to avoid a repeat of the same problem.

No matter what kind of service you need for your Nissan, whether it's regular maintenance or a more serious, immediate Nissan repair problem, Fairway Auto can take care of you and your vehicle.
